Plan spindle changes correctly – avoid typical mistakes

When a spindle fails and the machine comes to a standstill, problems often arise less from the defect itself than from the reaction to it.

Common mistakes include wasting time due to unclear decisions, focusing too narrowly on the spindle without considering process and environmental causes, and making hasty replacement decisions without technical evaluation.

Equally critical: a lack of backup or emergency plans, a spindle change without geometry measurement and commissioning, and inadequate documentation.
