The spindle is the heart of the machine

The spindle is the assembly that directly transmits all forces, speeds, and movements into the machining process. If something is wrong here, it immediately affects the entire machining result.
In practice, this often manifests itself indirectly:
Dimensional deviations despite unchanged program
Surfaces deteriorate
Tool life decreases
Processes become unstable or "vulnerable"
Often, the first thing people look for is the tool, parameters, or material – but the actual cause lies in the spindle itself, for example due to:
altered circular path
Wear in the bearing
minimal imbalance or tension
It is also important to note that the spindle does not operate in isolation, but rather, together with the machine and tool, defines the entire behavior in the process. Any deviation is directly transmitted "forward" to the workpiece.
From a maintenance perspective, this means: As soon as machining, noise or running behavior changes, the spindle should always be considered – not only when it fails completely.
A stable, properly tested spindle is a prerequisite for the machine to operate consistently, reproducibly, and reliably.
